Academy of Medicine Student Assistant (0 positions available)
Supports the Academy Event Coordinator.
Must be Workstudy.

Admin Office - Assistant (0 positions available)
Supports the Marketing Coordinator. Typical duties are filing, typing, running errands
and creating simple flyers and posters. 10 hours per week. Hours worked must be between 8a and 5p. No evening hours. Starting salary is $8/hour; Must be Workstudy.

Admin Office - Graphic Design Assistant (0 positions available)
Supports the Marketing Coordinator. Typical duties are creating posters, banners, and other print materials for the Student Center. Applicants must have a strong work ethic, be self motivated and able to work with little or no supervision. 10 hours per week. Must have office hours between 8a and 5p. Starting salary is $8/hour; Must be Workstudy.

Admin Office - Web Assistant (0 positions available)
Working under the supervision of the Student Center Marketing Coordinator, will process updates to the Student Center webpage and create new applications as needed. Must be proficient in PHP, .Net and SharePoint. Applicants must have a strong work ethic, be self motivated and able to work with little or no supervision. Must have good communication skills. 10-15 hours per week. Must be able to come in at least 2 hours per week for office hours. Requires a 1 year commitment. Starting salary is $8.50/hour. Workstudy preferred.

Audio Visual Technician (AV Tech) (0 positions available)

A/V technicians work in several venues in different capacities. They will setup sound amplification systems, LCD’s or projectors, laptop computers, and any other technically advanced devices.

Technicians will run sound and lighting systems for specific events, as well as supervise outside DJ’s connected to our systems. A/V technicians regularly maintain all audio-visual and any other technical equipment and may be assigned to a specific venue.

Business Office - Assisant ( 0 positions available)
Supports Business Office staff with clerical duties and runs errands on campus.
Typical duties are checking vending "help" line for calls. Records and reports information to vendors.

Data entry of reclassification of journal entries into Peoplesoft. Prepare invoices for Commons tenants. Monthly updates of sales analysis for vendors.

Buzz Bags Associate (0 positions available)

Working in a team, BuzzBag Student Assistants are responsible for the assembly and distribution of Buzz Bags. Assistants are expected to maintain the inventory of post cards and/or miscellaneous items to be included in Buzzbags and work closely within the BuzzBags team to ensure that bags are assembled and distributed on a timely basis.

Applicants must be outgoing, able to communicate well, and have a strong work ethic. Must be self motivated and able to work with little or no supervision, adhering to a strict time schedule. Should have a have a good knowledge of and/or be willing to learn the GT campus. Must have a commitment to learning all aspects of the BuzzBags program. Starting salary is $8/hour, Workstudy only

Computer Support technicians work in several venues in different capacities. They will setup, fix, & maintain computers and equipment under the direction of the Computer Support staff person.

Copy Center Attendant (0 positions available)
Assistants are responsible for the daily operations of the Copy Center. Responsibilities include loading and maintaining copiers, transmitting faxes, binding, informing customers about facility offerings, and tracking inventory. Assistants are expected to maintain a clean copy area, and work with Copy Center patrons to provide excellent customer service.

Must be outgoing, able to communicate well, comfortable working alone, and have a commitment to learning the basics of all of the functional areas of the Copy Center.

All Copy Center employees must be participants in the Federal Work Study Program. Starting salary is dependent upon reward letter.

Craft Center Attendant (0 positions available)
Assistants are responsible for the daily operations of the Craft Center. Responsibilities include loaning, renting, and selling supplies, printing banners and posters, informing customers about facility offerings, and tracking inventory. Assistants are expected to maintain a clean crafts area, and work with Craft Center patrons to provide excellent customer service.

Must be outgoing, able to communicate well, and have a commitment to learning the basics of all of the functional areas of the Craft Center.

Students with artistic knowledge and experience preferred. Starting salary is $6.55 (minimum wage).


Event Services Assistant (0 positions available)
The Student Center houses 2 large multi-purpose rooms, 4 medium multi-purpose rooms, 3 small conference rooms, a 200 seat theater, a 200 seat Green House, and a ballroom which can seat up to 600 lecture style or 400 for a banquet or that can be divided into two smaller ballrooms. In addition, the Student Center offers a variety of audio/visual equipment that may be added to any reservation.

The Event Services Assistant will assist the Event Coordinator in facilitating and processing clients’ requests for event reservations.


Guest Services Manager ( 0 positions available)
The Student Center provides a full range of services to meet our student’s needs. The Student Center features a bookstore, dining services, student organization offices, optical center and a travel agency in addition to an expansive array of essential services.

The Guest Services Managers are responsible for the overall running of the facility primarily during the evening, weekend and holiday hours. Responsibilities include extensive internal and external guest contact, cash handling, maintaining the appearance of the facility and the meeting rooms and other functions as necessary for the success of the Student Center.

Information Desk Attendant (0 positions available)

In order to be considered for this position, you MUST have been previously enrolled at the Institute for at least one semester.

The Information Desk Attendants will staff the desk on the second floor of the Student Center. They are responsible for being the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. They will assist in answering any and all questions about the Student Center, Campus Events, General Campus questions, and sometimes questions about the Metro Atlanta Area as well.

In addition, they will be responsible for answering telephone inquiries, Lost and Found services, Room reservations, and general questions regarding the student centers marketing programs.
Must be outgoing, posses strong communication skills, and have a good knowledge of and/or be willing to learn about the GT campus and community.

Movie Theater Cashier ( 0 positions available)

The cashier is responsible for the well being of the patrons, the environment in which the program is being presented, and for the cash control of each showing. The time committment is one hour before showtime through cleanup after the movie ends. Cashiers work during 16mm screenings only.

Projectionist and Cashier positions are cross-trained to provide additional opportunities to work and support the Student Center Movie Committee.

Movie Theater Projectionist ( 0 positions available - Must be available Thurs, Fri and Sat nights)
The projectionist is responsible for the operation of the 16mm equipment and sound equipment for showing movies selected by the Student Center Movie Committee. Typical shift is 6hrs. In addtion, projectionists run our premeire movie screenings which are typically on Tues and Wed nights from 7:30p-11p.

Projectionists receive full training on all equipment and work with a partner until ready to handle tasks on their own.

Projectionist and Cashier positions are cross-trained to provide additional opportunities to work and support the Student Center Movie Committee.

Music Listening Room Attendant (MLR) ( 0 positions available)
Assistants are responsible for the daily operations and evening/weekend rentals of the MLR. Responsibilities include loaning supplies, maintaining house music and sound system, loading music for listening stations, informing customers about facility offerings, and tracking inventory. Assistants are expected to maintain a clean area, and work with MLR patrons to provide excellent customer service.

Must be outgoing, able to communicate well, and have a commitment to learning the basics of the MLR.

Students with music knowledge and audio/visual experience preferred. Starting salary is $6.55 (minimum wage).

Options Assistant (0 positions available)

The Options Assistant is responsible for the scheduling and managing of Options Courses. The Assistant is responsible for room reservations, communicating with Instructors, publicity and registration of courses, as well as other duties as assigned.

The Options Assistant should expect to work 8-10 hours per week, with some weeks being heavier than others. Scheduled hours will be within the Monday thru Friday, 9-5, work week with occasional evening and weekend hours. Applicant must have good written and verbal communication skills, be attentive to details, be able to work independently as well as within a team, and have a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and Photoshop. Ideally, the Assistant will be available for at least a one year commitment and available beginning November 2008.

Post Office Assistants (0 positions available)

The Post Office assistants can be expected to assist customers at the parcel pick-up counter, process incoming UPS, FEDEX, and U.S. Postal Services packages, deliver mail to students P.O. boxes and process outgoign departmental mail. Some positions may require standing for long periods of time and lifting large/heavy parcels. Critical need for 9a- 2p Monday - Friday. Additionally, some positions require working alternate Saturdays from 8am until 12noon.

Post Office - Mail Processor  (0 positions available)
Place - Post Office, 711 Marietta St
Day/Time - M-F 1-5 (start time can vary)
Ensure that all department mail that is received, is processed and ready for USPS pick up. Each mail piece receive its proper weight and postage. Make sure each department mail form has its proper people soft number and postal number. Make sure all departmental mail has the proper mailing form with it before it is processed. Pay rate is $7.25/hr

 

Tech Rec Attendant: ( 0 positions available)
Attendants are responsible for the daily operations of the facility while on shift. Staff members rent out bowling, pool, and gaming equipment to customers, handle cash, buzzcard, and credit cards, and respond to customer questions and concerns.

Customer service and cash-handling experience is preferred, but not required. Some weekend night hours are required.

Tech Rec Lane Mechanics: ( 0 positions available)
Lane mechanics are responsible for doing minor maintenance and repairs to the pinsetters (bowling lane mechanisms) as well as maintenance of pool tables and equipment.

No experience is necessary; we do train. Students who enjoy working with machinery, don't mind getting dirty, and are self-motivated work best for this position. Some weekend night hours are required.
