Arts & Culture sponsors events that focus on engaging and relevant speakers, artistic expression, student talent, and cultural enrichment to bring the arts to the student body. Recent events include: Bill Nye, Take-a-Prof, and So You Think Tech Can Dance.
Atlanta Life
Atlanta Life hosts events at off-campus venues throughout the city of Atlanta and beyond! Transportation is provided! Recent events: Gold Carpet advanced screening of the Dark Knight Rises, & Light up the Night: Atlanta Botanic Gardens.
Comedy & Entertainment
Comedy & Entertainment brings comedians and various novelty acts to campus. Recent events include: Kenan Thompson, Hypnotist Brian Imbus, National College Comedy Competition, and Jonah Hill.
Concerts
Concerts produces shows features a variety of musical acts from campus bands to world-renowned performers. Recent events include: T-Pain, and 3OH!3.
Festival
Festivals plans a campus-wide student appreciation festival each semester. Festivals in the past have included free giveaways and food, music, inflatables, novelties, and carnival rides. Recent events include: the Homecoming Festival & Sting Break.
Homecoming
Homecoming works in collaboration with multiple organizations in order to plan a weeklong celebration of Tech spirit leading up to the homecoming football game. Homecoming is one of SCPC’s larger committees typically ranging between 20 and 25 members with multiple subcommittees and is recruited separately from the rest of the organization in mid-spring. Some SCPC events during Homecoming: campus-wide field event competitions, Talent Show, and Mr. Georgia Tech and Ms. Georgia Tech.
Movies
Movies shows films outdoors on a large inflatable screen and in the Student Center Theater. Recent events include: Flicks on 5th, 127 Hours, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I.
Options
Options selects, organizes, and coordinates non-credit leisure classes for student, faculty, staff, alumni and Atlanta community members ranging in topics, including Arts & Crafts, Dance, Language, Recreation, Music and MIscellaneous.
Ramblin Nights
Ramblin’ Nights plans entertaining late night events, often in collaboration with other committees and organizations. Recent events include: the TBS Comedy Competition, 90s Night, and Tech Rec Takeover!
