The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) seeks an adaptable and hardworking student to assist CEISMC K-12 Student Programs as an office assistant.
CEISMC is seeking to hire a detail-oriented student with strong interpersonal skills who will show initiative, a strong work ethic, organization, positivity, and the ability to work professionally and independently with appropriate direction.
IMPACT & INFLUENCE:
The office assistant will interact primarily with the CEISMC K-12 Student Programs staff. This is not a teaching or student-facing role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position communicates and collaborates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including the marketing, communications, and web/Salesforce team; MBA, undergraduate, PhD, and centers/initiatives teams; and marketing and advertising vendors and partners.
Prior email marketing-specific experience is not required.
Following the Summer 2024 semester, there is an opportunity for this position to evolve into a marketing assistant role where the responsibilities will include creating and posting social media content, filming and editing Instagram reels, writing and updating web content, including Scheller News stories, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deploy email marketing campaigns through Marketing Cloud platform, employing best practices for content, calls to action, personalization, visual design, mobile optimization, and more
- Write engaging, human-centric copy for email, web, stories, and more using Georgia Tech’s modified AP style guidelines and SEO best practices
- Create and edit webpage content, format, and layout through the Cascade CMS
- Craft copy for other materials and collateral for web, digital, social media, print, and other platforms/channels
- Conduct research and interviews to craft testimonials, student and alumni profiles, stories, press releases, business thought leadership pieces, white papers, and blog articles
- Copyedit email, web, and marketing content, ensuring clarity, uniformity, and voice alignment across units, programs, and offerings
- Proof copy for projects and deliverables originating from the marketing and communications team and other units at the College
- Identify target audience needs and recommend and write new content to address gaps
- Participate in the development of marketing and communications strategy and messaging, including participation in team meetings, client meetings, and project brainstorming sessions
- Produce and organize multi-media content, including photos, videos, podcast episodes, and more

The Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) has a work study / paid internship position open to GA Tech students majoring/minoring in Marketing/Advertising or students that have taken technical writing classes.
Projects will include the development of marketing materials to be used in conjunction with licensing of inventions developed at GA Tech, passive and active marketing of those inventions, data entry and other related activities and general support to OTL processes.

We are hiring for Summer and Year-round lifeguards
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prevent accidents and eliminate or minimize hazardous situations.
• Maintain vigilance of guests/swimmers by consistently scanning swimmer protection zones to maintain the '10/20 Protection Rule'
• Enforce safety rules, riding instructions and regulations for the safety of guests/swimmers
• Render aid by rescuing distressed swimmers
• Provide first aid and emergency care for guests/swimmers who suffer injuries or sudden illness
• Test and check for proper water chemistry according to state and local guidelines
• Perform daily facility maintenance and sanitation duties to provide and maintain a safe and aesthetically inviting aquatic facility for guests/swimmers
• Maintain passing scores and proper safety standards during on-the-job visual, unannounced lifeguard evaluations
• Attend a monthly in-service training meeting
• Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
• Lifeguard must possess a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification.
We offer this certification class monthly at the McAuley Aquatic Center for the cost of $38 to include the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration. All materials will be provided for the course included in your course fee. The course is a blend of 20 hrs of online modules and 16 hours (typically 4 x 4-hr evening sessions) of in-class/pool instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS TO TAKE LIFEGUARD CLASS
An individual must be at least 16 years of age or older and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to enter the course and must be demonstrated prior to class participation.
• Lifeguard candidate must be able to continuously swim a distance of 300 yards (without resting) using the front crawl and/or breaststroke
• Lifeguard candidate must be able to tread water without using hands in deep water for two minutes
• Lifeguard candidate must be able to recover a 10 pound weight from eight feet (17') water depth
POSITION PAY
• $12/hr to start
• $12-$16/hr for positions as guards apply and get selected for promotions to Supervisor and Instructor
• Additional $4/hr for meet shifts.
• All required uniforms for this position are provided by the CRC as part of your employment
