About West Village

West Village hosts the delicious dining commons and pulsing music annex, all with lush outdoor green spaces. With an emphasis on sustainability and community, West Village is the place where students, faculty, and staff harmonize as one.

Our Mission and Values

The goal of West Village is to activate the West side of campus and enrich student life, providing a place for the campus community to not only get a meal, but to meet friends, network, and study. The building was designed with the wellness of the community in mind; new dining options, study and meeting rooms, and intentional community building space throughout the building support the whole person through health, community, and environment. It was a key goal in design to allow maximum flexibility and utilization of space in the dining and lounge areas, as well as to provide an indoor/outdoor connection to nature. This is the first building of its kind at Georgia Tech, supporting and enhancing multiple dimensions of the campus community experience.

Sustainability

The West Village supports Georgia Tech’s commitment to sustainability, as well as the health and well-being of the campus community. Everywhere you turn within this building there is a nod to supporting those efforts. Examples of sustainability and health include constructing West Village with a limited number of unique and sustainable materials, innovative recycling and composting program, and custodial cleaning using ionized wated and no harsh chemicals.

Community

West Village provides social and community building spaces (both indoors and out) as a part of the overall health and wellness approach. These include indoor and outdoor lounge space, two reservable meeting spaces, five small group rooms available on a first-come, first served basis, two outdoor terraces equipped with fire pits and seating for about 300 in the outdoor spaces, and expansive views of the Georgia Tech green space.

West Village Dining

The Dining Commons offers a fresh, food-forward approach in a community-centered area similar to a food hall. There are five micro-restaurants with innovative cuisine ranging from the rich Italian food in Olive to the vast flavors of the world at Spice Trail. Other dining options available in West Village are Panera, stationed near the 1st floor main entrance, and Starbucks, positioned on the 3rd floor. The dining and study seating display the breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline and Georgia Tech green spaces.

Music Annex

The Music Annex provides an appropriate space for the new Music Technology Undergraduate Degree program. With four academic classrooms of various size include adjustable acoustic panels, classrooms are specifically designed for choral and jazz practice, but also available to other music groups. Other features include faculty offices, recording booths, and an outdoor performance space.
